Black Melon
Packed with potassium and vitamin C and very refreshing (check the ingredients page to learn more about all the health benefits).
Ingredients:
■1/2 cup watermelon
■1/2 cup honeydew melon
■1/2 cantaloupe
■1/2 cup blackberries
■2 handfuls of spinach
■1 banana
■1/2 cup water
■1 cup ice
Blend it all up and serve over ice and a slice or two of fresh lemon or lime.
Fruits are packed with vitamins and minerals as well as some of the best fat we can consume (avocado and coconut). They also contain sugar (fructose) which supplies the body with much needed energy and acts as a deterrent to gorging yourself with processed sugars that can lead to obesity.
Hungry? Craving a candy bar? You’re better off eating 12 apples.
Spinach: Popeye ate it. Enough said? Okay, fine. Spinach is a huge source of Vitamins C, A, K, you name it. The flavonoids in spinach help protect against age related memory loss and the lutein in the little green leaf makes it one of the best foods in the world to prevent age related macular degeneration.

Cantaloupe And Raspberry Smoothie
Cantaloupe And Raspberry Smoothie
(This recipe yields 4 servings)
4 cups cantaloupe -- peeled/seeded/diced
•3 cups raspberries
•1/4 cup honey
•1 cup milk
•1/2 cup plain yogurt
•1/2 cup buttermilk
•1/2 cup pine nuts
Stir the honey into the raspberries. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Puree berries in a food processor and then pass them through a fine mesh sieve. Discard the solids. Place the puree in a large bowl and stir in the milk, yogurt, buttermilk, and melon pieces and refrigerate until chilled. When ready to serve, put 2 cups of the mixture in a blender and liquefy. Pour into a pitcher. Repeat, adding the pine nuts to the blender with the last batch of the fruit mixture.
Stir the smoothie before serving. Norwegian cruise ships serve this at dinner as fancy "Fruit Soup". I serve it all the time and call it a delicious smoothie. Mr Breakfast would like to thank Checkers for this recipe. http://www.mrbreakfast.com/display.asp?categoryid=4&subcategoryid=14&recipeid=956

Sweet cantaloupe drink

Summer wasn’t complete without this refreshing drink for me growing up. I remember my parents making this every summer. While the other kids had lemonade, my siblings and I had this sweet cantaloupe drink. Think of it as the Filipino version of the Mexican agua fresca. I hope it refreshes you as much as it did for us, and still does to this day!
1 ripe medium sized cantaloupe 1 lemon or lime, juiced about 6-8 cups cold water simple syrup to taste
1. Peel, seed and grate the cantaloupe into a large bowl, making sure to catch all the juice runoff. 2. Transfer to a large punchbowl or pitcher, add lemon or lime juice and cold water just so that it dilutes the melon juice and strings, adding more cold water if necessary. Add simple syrup to taste and serve ice cold with a spoon to scoop out the melon! A bruised mint leaf or two would be wonderful in this as well.
*There was another variation to this drink that my parents also made. Prepare the cantaloupe the same way, omit the citrus juice, add whole milk instead of water and sweeten with simple syrup. I have to have it both ways every summer! It makes a great breakfast drink!
