Cranberry apple crisp (fresh market)


Cranberry Apple Crisp

Mix the delicious flavors and colors of Fall in this delicious cranberry apple crunch.  This a treat that will call people for seconds.

What You Will Need:

  • 4 Granny Smith apples (you can mix with Fuji or Braeburn for a sweeter apple taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups cranberries
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

What You Do:


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Fill a large pot with water adding a pinch of sugar and a splash of lemon juice 
  • Bring water to a boil 
  • Peel, core and slice apples 
  • Put apples and cranberries in the boiling water
  • Boil until fruit is tender, about 5-7 minutes (cranberries will start to make a popping sound).  
  • In a separate bowl mix egg, flour, both sugars, salt and cinnamon until crumbly.
  •  Drain apples and cranberries of all water and place in  a 9x9 inch square pan. 
  • Dot with a little butter, optional. 
  • Spread crumbly mixture over top. Bake for 30 minutes.
